District 15-3A Meet Results

The Ladynecks and Roughnecks competed at the District 15-3A meet held at Northeast Texas Community College on Monday, October 11th. Nathan Green and Lizzy Still lead all runners in their respective races finishing as the Individual District Champions. Green covered the three mile course in 19:04, while Still completed the two mile course in 13:52. The boy’s race also saw medalists in Alberto Soto and Adrian Pinson. Soto finished third in a time of 19:58, and Pinson, ninth, in a time of 20:56. Logan Dugger finished in 18th with a time of 22:59. In the girls race, Abby Lobue finished in second place behind Still in a time of 14:36, Morgan Benge, fifth, 15:02, and Abby Quesenberry, 35th in a time of 20:15. The junior high girl’s race also saw good performances on an unforgiving course. Sophie Fisher led the Ladynecks in fifth place in a time of 17:54. Addisen Morris finished in 14th place in a time of 19:24. Morris was followed by Merritt McMahon in 18th place for a time of 20:32. The junior high boy’s team placed third overall for the meet. Logan Langewisch led the Roughnecks in sixth place with a time of 13:56. Levi Sipes, 12th, 14:41, Nathan Watson, 16th, 14:59, Hayden Hunter, 18th, 15:01, ad Lucas Toles, 21st, 15:29, contributed to the team score. Markham Rosenburg finished the course in 15:38 for 22nd, Luke Bueno, 26th in 16:34, Jackson Standard 30th in 16:57, and Cooper Tucker 31st in 17:10. The junior high runners raced quite well on this course. They completed their season representing White Oak well. The top ten finishers in the Varsity races will move on to the Region II Championships on October 25th at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Praire. This will be return trips for Morgan Benge, Adrian Pinson, Alberto Soto, and Nathan Green. Lizzy Still and Abby Lobue will be making their first trips to the Regional competition. The top ten individuals not part of the top four qualifying teams will advance to the State Competition in Round Rock in early November.

The Cross Country teams hosted their first meet ever at the City Park on Friday, October 1st due to the combined efforts of Dee Lewis, Brian Gray and Barry Henson. The weather was a little muggy but the rains held off until the conclusion of the meet. Under cloudy skies, Lizzy Still and Alberto Soto were the top finishers for White Oak. For the second meet in a row, Still led all runners on the 2-mile course in a converted time of 12:25. Abby Lobue, fourth, and Morgan Benge, tenth, also medaled with with times of 13:06 and 13:52. Abby Quesenberry finished in 50th place in a time of 15:39. Soto led the Roughnecks this week with a ninth place finish in a time of 17:48. Soto was followed by teammate Adrian Pinson in 15th place for a time of 18:15. Pinson edged Nathan Green for a medal. Green finished in 16th place in a time of 18:17. Logan Dugger completed the course in 19:43 for 42nd place in a race that saw 112 runners complete the course. The teams will be idle this weekend as they prepare for the District race on Monday, October 11th at Northeast Texas Community College in Mt.Pleasant. The top ten individuals and top three teams will advance to the Regional II Championships at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie on October, 25th. I would personally like to thank all of the workers who helped organize and run off this meet, especially Stacey Hall, Dana Mizell, Julie Bodovsky, Megan Lawson, Coach McKnight, Coach Bohn, Coach Wofford, Lance Noll, and all the student workers. Without their efforts and time this meet would not run as smoothly as it did. Thanks again to Dee Lewis, Brian Gray, and Barry Henson as well as the City of White Oak workers who made this happen. Union Grove Meet Results

The Cross Country teams enjoyed the cooler weather on Saturday at the Union Grove Invitational. Nathan Green and Lizzy Still won the individual titles in the Varsity boys and girls races. Both runners ran personal best, Green covered the 5k race in 17:12 and Still covered the two mile course in 12:34. Several teammates medaled in their respective races as well. Abby Lobue finished in seventh, 13:14, Morgan Benge in 16th, 13:56, and Abby Quesenberry, 40th for a time of 15:23 in the Varsity girls race. Alberto Soto collected more hardware for his season finishing in fourth for 18:20. Soto was followed by Adrian Pinson in 16th, 19:15, Jake Yarbrough, 21st, 19:39, and Logan Dugger, 27th, 19:53 to round out the team scoring. The Junior High runners kicked off the morning with many improvements in racing times. Logan Langewisch led the boys team with a 14th place finish in a season low time of 13:15. Levi Sipes was close behind Langewisch in 17th in a time of 13:23. Nathan Watson was back in running form after a short illness running a 14:21 for 35th place. Watson was followed by Hayden Hunter, 15:00, for 41st and Lucas Tooles in 44th in a time of 15:05 to complete the team scoring for the boys. Cooper Tucker finished in 15:13 for 48th followed by Luke Bueno in 49th 15:15, Markham Rosenburg 57th, 15:42, and Jackson Standard 63rd in 16:24. The girls race also saw runners improving their times for the two mile course. Merritt McMahon placed 72nd for a time of 18:42 and Addisen Morris placed in 74th with a time of 18:58. Saturday’s weather conditions at Union Grove were ideal for racing, leaving the Ladynecks and Roughnecks with the opportunity to race a tough course in preparation for the upcoming District meet on October 11th.

Pine Tree Meet Results

The Roughneck and Ladynecks competed at the Mike Darby Invitational at Lear Park on Friday, September 17th. Nathan Green and Lizzy Still led the respective teams this week. Green finished in 11th place in a time of 18:00 minutes even in a race that saw 94 runners finish. Still medaled in fourth in a time of 13:40 in the Varsity girls race that saw 126 runners compete. Alberto Soto, finished 14th, 18:12, Jake Yarbrough in 20:16 for 56th, Adrian Pinson, 20:36, for 60th, and Logan DUgger in 67th place, 20:51 scored for the boys team. The team finished eighth with a score of 200 points. Abby lObue finished in 23rd for 14:56, Morgan Benge in 15:37 for 41st place and Abby Quesenberry in 91st place in a time of 17:30. The runners will return with the Junior Highs teams on Saturday, September 25th at the Union Grove meet.

Hallsville Meet Results

The Roughnecks and Ladynecks returned to action Saturday, September 11th at the Hallsville Flying H Invitational. This was one of largest races of the season with 48 schools represented throughout the morning’s races. The course features dirt and grass trails with rolling hills. Comparatively this is a harder course than some of the flat grassy courses the runners face during the season. The girls started the morning with top ten finishes from Lizzy Still and Abby Lobue. Still finished the 2-mile course in 13:00 minutes flat for a personal best and third place finish. Lobue also PR’d in 14:10 with a ninth place finish. Abby Quesenberry returned to action after illness and injury to place 107th out of 162 runners for a time of 17:30. In the boys race, Nathan Green led the boys with a seventh place finish for 18:28. Green was followed by Alberto Soto in 18:52 for 12th place. Adrian Pinson finished in 32nd place for 20:15 followed by Logan Dugger in 65th in a time of 21:10. The boys race saw 148 runners complete the course. The Junior High runners also returned to racing this weekend. In the girls race Sophie Fisher finished in 113th place for a time of 19:57, and Addisen Morris, in her first race, finished in 138th place for 21:05. The girls race saw 188 runners complete the course. Logan Languish lead the Junior High boys team in a 37th for a time of 14:26. Levi Sipes finished 67th, 15:19, Copper Tucker finished in 16:09, 100th, Hayden Hunter, 16:45 for 119th, and rounding out the team scoring was Luke Bueno in 140th for 17:25. Markham Rosenburg and Jackson Standard made their cross country racing debut this weekend as well. Rosenburg, finished in 17:43 for 143rd place, and Standard finished in 18:41, 161st place. The Junior High boys race saw 203 runners complete the course. The High School Cross Country runners will compete at the Pine Tree XC meet held at Lear Park on Friday, September 17th. The Junior High Cross Country runners will be idle this weekend, and return to action on Saturday, September 25th at Union Grove.

WHAT JH NEEDS FOR RACE DAY: All JH runners need to wear their uniform to the meet. They should wear a WO t-shirt over their uniform top and bring a bag with a towel and snacks for the morning. It is important, they eat something when they get up in the morning. If they don’t feel like eating, send something with them and I will make sure they eat before their race. JH runners should also bring a couple bottles of water and a sports drink (Gatorade, Powerade, Body Armour are good choices). I will have a cooler for their drinks. **Put their name on water bottles going in the cooler

JH runners may leave with their family after they race, I will have a sign out sheet, however they must ride with family.

Race Schedule: **Rolling Start. They will start the next race as soon as the previous race finishes, therefore times could be earlier. These are only estimated times, arrive early

Gilmer Meet Results: 8/28

The Cross Country teams took to the fields this weekend for the Gilmer Buckeye Invitational. The runners enjoyed a two loop course through fields and woods under cloudy skies! The Junior High teams kicked off the morning with their first races of the season. In the girls race 105 runners finished the course. Sophie Fisher placed 52nd in a time of 19:00, while Merritt McMahon placed 93rd in a time of 22:45. In the boys’ race, Logan Languish led the Roughnecks with a 15th place finish in a time of 14:26. Languish was followed by Nathan Watson in 16:56, 36th, Hayden Hunter 17:01 for 38th place and Cooper Tucker, 47th, in 17:35. Luke Bueno rounded out the scoring for the boy’s team in 55th place in a time of 18:35. The Junior High boys finished in 8th place as a team with a score of 191 points. In the Varsity girls’ race Lizzy Still led all runners with a first place finish in a time of 13:53. Abby Lobue placed 6th in 14:45 followed by Morgan Benge in 18th place for 15:35. The girls’ race saw 86 runners compete. The boys team placed third as a team behind Spring Hill and Pleasant Grove with 112 points. Nathan Green and Adrian Pinson placed in the top ten finishing in 9th and 10th place. Green finished the three mile course in 19:21, Pinson in 19:31. They were closely followed by Alberto Soto in 13th place in a time of 19:37. Logan Dugger finished in 32nd place in 21:19 and Jake Yarbrough in 48th place in a time of 22:24 to round out the scoring for the Roughnecks.
The teams are idle this week, but will return to action on September 11th at the Flying H Invitational at Hallsville High School.

Union Grove Meet Results: 8/21

The White Oak Cross Country teams kicked off the 2021 season this weekend by racing at the Union Grove Cross Country meet. The Varsity girls started the morning off for White Oak with three medalists. Lizzy Still placed fourth in a time of 13:27. Still was followed by Abby Lobue for 12th place in a time of 14:20, and Morgan Benge medaled in 16th place in a time of 14:34. The Varsity boys team was led by Alberto Soto in fifth, 19:40, followed by Nathan Green in tenth for 20:11. Green was followed by Adrian Pinson 26th in 21:45. In the Junior Varsity race Logan Dugger finished second in 13:10 followed by Jake Yarbrough in 13:51 for sixth place. The Ladynecks and ROughnecks will travel to Gilmer for the Buckeye Invitational this weekend. The junior high runners will be making their racing debut with the first races of the morning.
