It was a hot and humid one this Saturday at the Flying H Invitational held at Hallsville High School. The Ladynecks raced to a third place team (71 points) finish behind Kilgore and Gilmore. Olivia Sipes, 6th, Morgan Benge 9th, and Cece Hernandez 10th took home some hardware. Hernandez was closely followed by Baylee Lyke in 16th, just out of collecting a medal, and Abby Quesenberry rounded out the team scoring in 34th place. John Langley picked up his first medal of the season with a 16th place finish. He was followed by Nathan Green in 27th, Alberto Soto in 39th and Dylan Miller in 62nd. The girls and boys races each saw 105 runners cross the finish line. The Junior High runners returned to action this weekend with several of the ladies making their debut. Tristan Blair led the way in the boys race in 45th, 15:33, followed by Jake Yarbrough in 54th, 15:55. Aidan Kennar finished 79th, 16:33 and Logan Duggar placed 82nd, 16:35. Kohl Adams placed 118th in 18:36 rounded out the team scoring. Kanaan Moore, 27:59, and Blaine Vaughn, 28:10, finished 184th and 186th out of 192 runners. The girls were led by Addie Young in 38th in 18:11. Young was followed by Addison Clinkscales in 81st, 20:56. Raylee Gajewsky followed Clinkscales in 85th place in a time of 21:10. Aubrey Saccoccio finished in 122nd, 24:37, and Kinsey Watkins in 125th, 25:09 out of 151 runners. The High School runners will compete Friday at Lear Park in the Pine Tree Pig Trot and Puddle Jump. The Junior High runners will not compete this week. They will return to action at the Buckeye Invitational in Gilmer on September 29th.
