The Ladynecks and Roughnecks were back in action this week at the Tyler Lee Invitational held at the campus of UT Tyler. The Junior High runners also made their debut this weekend. Several Ladynecks took home some hardware this week and turned in some great times for early in the season. Olivia Sipes placed 10th, 12:35, in the Varsity girls race. Third and Fifth place medals were snagged by Baylee Lyke, 13:40, and Abby Quesenberry, 13:50, in the JV girls division that saw 166 runners crossed the line. Also in the Varsity girls race and just out of medal contention was Morgan Benge, 12:51,in 16th and CeCe Hernandez, 13:09, in 25th place.The Varsity girls race saw 135 runners compete. Alberto Soto led the Roughnecks this week in the JV boys race with a time of 20:27 for 45th out of 291 runners. Soto was followed closely by teammates, Nathan Green, 20:31, in 47th and John Langley, 20:44, in 61st. Dylan Miller made his debut this week after some time off from an injury. He placed 123rd in a time of 23:50. In the Junior High boys race 253 runners crossed the finish line. Tristan Blair finished in 14:11, followed by Aidan Kenner in 14:20, and Jake Yarbrough in 14:34 finished in the top 100. Logan Duggar completed the two mile course in 15:14, Kohl Adams in 16:25, Kanaan Moore in 19:30. Moore was followed by Blaine Vaugh in 19:35. In the Junior High girls race, Aubrey Saccoccio raced to a time of 20:54 in a race that saw 236 runners. These week the teams will travel to Hallsville to race on their Flying H trails located behind Hallsville High School. The course will be mostly trails in a wooded area and should prove challenging for all runners.
