The Ladyneck and Roughneck Cross Country teams competed at the Gilmer Invitational on Saturday, September 30th. The girls finished in fourth place as a team among a field of twenty teams. Cryslan Tucker led the Ladynecks with a 3rd place finish with a time of 13:37. Shaynee Tyl also collected some hardware with a 9th place finish in 14:13 among 156 competitors. CeCe Hernandez and Katie Williamson finished in 27th and 38th place respectively with times of 15:04 and 15:43. Luisa Soto rounded out the team scoring in 70th place and a time of 16:39. In the boys varsity race, Dylan Harris placed 10th, 17:51, in a field of 177 runners. The Junior High runners kicked off the morning with Morgan Benge placing 9th in a time of 15:25. Benge has placed in the top ten in all of her races this season. In the boys’ race Aidan Kennar led the team in 27th place in 14:52. Nathan Green improved on his performance from last week finishing in 15:20 for a 56th place. Green was followed by teammates Alberto Soto in 88th, 16:05, and Tristan Blair in 95th, 16:21. The teams will compete in their District meet on Saturday, October 7th at Elysian Fields High School. The races are slated ti begin at 8:30 with the Varsity girls race.
